Girl & the Goat, named one of the Top 5 Restaurant Openings in America in 2012, is located on Chicago’s renowned strip of restaurants on West Randolph Street.
This project included a complicated basement excavation and challenging structural work, all completed on a tight construction schedule. The building was transformed from an abandoned warehouse into a spectacular restaurant space in an impressive five and a half months.
LG coordinated with 555 Design and meticulously managed a budget with the client, pursuing alternative finishes and fixtures throughout the project to ensure the completed project was everything the client wanted.

Momotaro Japanese Restaurant was one of LG’s largest restaurant building projects to date. This fabulous space is 13,000 square feet spread over three floors in a vintage Chicago loft. Construction occurred in two phases, each with its own architect, which means LG worked with NORR Architects and JSA.
The restaurant features a bar in the lower level, a sushi bar on the main level, and a private dining space on the second level. Behind the scenes the back of the house includes two kitchens and a second floor management office. The property boasts a 3 stop elevator, an ornamental staircase, and an elaborate bar at the front entry, as well as the spectacular, high-end, finishes designed by New York interior designer AvroKo.

LG Construction was hired by Four Corners Tavern Group to completely demolish what was originally American Junkie, and transform the space into an upscale restaurant, bar, and nightclub. While preserving the back of house spaces, LG navigated the complications of modifying the existing second floor structure to add a central staircase and reworking all existing building components to fit the new design.
Working again with interior designer Studio K Creative, the communication amongst the project team was invaluable as decisions were made on the fly and existing building surprises were overcome. This successful team approach lead the project to completion without adding time to an aggressive schedule and allowed the client to meet private party commitments made prior to construction starting. The end result evokes an upscale Las Vegas nightclub experience in the heart of River North.

The Smylie Brothers Restaurant & Brewery was LG’s first brewery project and a fantastic addition to our restaurant building portfolio. Hired by BOKA Restaurant Group and working with JWrap Architecture, this 10,500 square foot renovation was an intoxicating project! Elements of the restaurant’s interior and exterior facade were built with reclaimed wood, and the main dining room boasts an impressive exposed bow truss roof, giving the space an industrial aesthetic with a welcoming feel all while using Green building products.

This high energy night spot originated in Scottsdale Arizona. With a tight time frame, LG’s scope of work consisted of complete front of house restoration of an existing restaurant, new façade with structural renovations to the building, and beer taps at each table.

LG worked with Keene Addington (founder and former CEO of Flat Top Grill) to build Tortoise Supper Club, a sentiment reflected in the original artwork and artifacts, including mahogany from the old Pump Room. The backdrop of the restaurant reflects the cuisine: classic American dining with a spirit of longevity, steadiness, and timelessness.

This three-concept restaurant includes Five & Dime, Taco Diablo, and Lulu’s, which couldn’t be more different from one another. Between the three restaurants there’s an outdoor grill and bar area, another bar inside, and seating space in both for use during inclement weather, making it the perfect retro indoor/outdoor spot to kick back and enjoy captivating city views.
