LG is going to provide Herban Produce with an expanded outdoor urban farm and new indoor event space. The expanded farm is on Van Buren and will extend almost an entire block from Mozart to Richmond street. There will be 2 enormous raised gardens for vegetables. One is 88’ x 81’ (7,000 square feet). The other is 184’ x 106’ (20,000 square feet). New storage containers will be delivered to the site and converted into a walk in cooler and pop-up bar. There are plans for 120 custom rack framed irrigated planters that will comprise 6,000 square feet of space. There will be room for tens of thousands of vegetables and herbs to grow.

LG renovated the existing pre-1900 building at 911 W Randolph in 2018. Veggie Grill is based in California and the building owner recommended they work with LG based on their success with the base build renovation. LG was eventually awarded the job and was given 2 months to finish the multi-level renovation which includes new rooftop mechanical systems, kitchen equipment, custom millwork and furniture, tile galore, state of the art data based employee computer stations and customer ordering systems, and a walk in cooler that was essentially a ship in a bottle. LG finished ahead of schedule and worked closely with the client to ensure they obtained their health certificate and licenses in time for their grand opening which all transpired as planned which was very important considering the VG team flew in from California for the turnover and grand opening.  LG is looking forward to more successful projects with the Veggie Grill team.

This is a transformation of a simple horse farm into one of the premier equine facilities in the Chicagoland area. Designed by LG Design, the 4,500 SF remodel consisted of adding a 6′ fireplace with custom 3 ton stone slab surround, chef’s kitchen, 2nd floor mezzanine, game room, locker room, and viewing window to the large indoor riding. In addition to the using it as a horse farm, it also was created to provide a truly unique event space to host everything from parties to weddings.

This two-level seafood restaurant with a terrace is part of a four-level, three-concept project. Other 2 concepts include RPM Event Space, a 5,600 sf private space with an 1,800 sf terrace overlooking the river, and Pizzeria Portofino, an 1,800 casual Italian Riviera-inspired restaurant is located at the same level of the river, which we completed in July 2019.

LG is proud to make a donation in honor of this project to Bright Pink, who to saves lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering women to know their risk and manage their health proactively.

We worked with the team at Roots to complete the renovation of this 7,500 space, bringing it back to life after it was destroyed by a fire in 2015. The gut rehab included a complete front of house restoration of an existing restaurant, full renovation of bar finishes, new façade with structural renovations to the building, lighting, A/V upgrades, HVAC equipment replacement, and seating areas updated.

Designed by 555 International, this 6,500 Square-foot restaurant buildout lives in the John Buck Company’s 151 N. Franklin Building. The Parisian-inspired brasserie’s features a fully functional rotating carousel bar, decorated with antiqued mirrors, Edison light bulbs, decorative pillars & shelving, functioning safety systems to start, stop, and reverse the bar using various switches and relays, and an illustration of “Francois Frankie,” a whimsical character equipped with a bottle of champagne.

The third location of Roots Handmade Pizza is projected to open in 2020 across from Dearborn Station, adjacent to Printers Row and Jones College Prep.

The first-floor cozy ambience will contrast the second floor’s entertainment-focused vibe and both spaces will be curated in a manner to capture different market segments. The first floor will give semblance to a neighborhood pizzeria, more in the style of the original Roots location, where visitors will feel at home. A dog-friendly sidewalk cafe will line Polk Street, in addition to a separate entrance on Dearborn to be used for carryout, delivery, and curbside pickup.

The second-floor space is designed with corporate functions and alcohol sales in mind. The retractable roof will highlight the premiere indoor/outdoor dining space in the South Loop. Roots will pursue licensing to allow live music and DJs and the décor will create an ambiance to reflect a destination for nightlife, entertainment, and heavily produced corporate events. In total, the restaurant will seat approximately 340 people.

The project will consist of 109 high-end residential rental units and 9,789 square feet of retail, and is extremely unique as it will be the only building in Chicago with direct access to the 606 Trail. The project will feature a gym, rooftop lounge and deck for resident use, as well as retail on the first and second floor, with direct access to the trail from the second floor.
